"The Kiss and Waste Project" (Work in Progress)
- is a flexible, growing, changing, multichannel video installation made in Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and United Kingdom.
To date the installation consists of a series of videoessays that are based on letters written to me by different women in the Black Sea and North Sea areas. Their task was to imagine that they are either my sister, mother, girlfriend, grandmother, close friend or relative. The letters/texts are then read, rehearsed, performed or interpreted by a local actress or the writer herself for camera and sound. Finally the textmaterial is combined, composed and edited into audiovisual essays made in each country.
The diverse content of the videos vary from the personal to the political and the main leitmotifs are identity and migration. Reflections and questions about personal struggle, political transition and changes in contemporary Europe.
